LiDAR spatial intelligence

ICIDO reads a space with the LiDAR sensor in your iPhone and keeps its true geometry. Walk back in later and it knows the room — and exactly where you are standing inside it.

How it works

Scan once. Navigate forever.

Three steps, and no infrastructure to install — the map lives in your pocket.

Capture

Scan the space

Sweep your iPhone across a room and the LiDAR sensor captures its walls, floor and furniture in three dimensions. ICIDO keeps the primary surfaces — the geometry that makes a place recognisable — and discards the clutter.

  • Choose indoor or outdoor before you begin
  • Watch the live mesh build as you walk
  • Save it as a named place, with its own thumbnail

Recognise

It knows the room

Walk back in later and tap Find Me. ICIDO compares what the camera sees against the places you have scanned, works out which one you are standing in, and fixes your position within it — no beacons, no Wi-Fi setup, no internet.

  • Probes your most likely saved maps first
  • Recovers on its own if tracking is interrupted
  • Shows your heading as you turn

Navigate

Follow the floor

Pick a saved spot, a room, or tap the map. ICIDO draws the route onto the real floor through the live camera, steering around the furniture with proper clearance and through the doorways, counting the distance down as you walk.

  • Obstacle clearance built into the path
  • Overlays hide correctly behind real objects
  • Live remaining distance to your destination

Spatial model

A building, rebuilt as geometry.

Sweep the sensor and raw returns resolve into structure — surfaces, thresholds, stairwells. Floors assemble into one coherent model of the building, and a route can run through every one of them.

The illustration alongside shows a three-storey building of 39 surfaces sampled as 46,870 points, with a 31-metre route from the entrance, through the hall, up the stairwell and on to a room on the top floor. The four stages below are described in full as text.

  1. A sweep of the sensor lands returns on every surface within reach — thousands of distances, arriving faster than you can walk, with no meaning attached to them yet.

  2. The cloud collapses onto structure. Walls become planes, openings become thresholds, the clutter is discarded, and what remains is the geometry that makes a place recognisable.

  3. Each scanned level locks into place above the last in one shared coordinate frame — so a building is a single model with a continuous interior, not three unrelated rooms.

  4. Once the geometry is understood a path can cross a floor, find the stairwell and keep climbing — around what is really in the way, through the openings that really exist.

Stage 1 of 4: Capture

Under the hood

Precision you can feel.

Geometry

Primary surfaces only

Scans keep walls, floor and large furniture — the recognisable shape of a place — and drop the clutter that changes day to day.

Routing

Clearance-aware paths

Routes are computed around obstacles with real clearance, so the line on the floor never clips a corner or cuts through a desk.

Rendering

True depth occlusion

Overlays hide behind real objects using LiDAR depth, so the route reads as part of the room rather than a sticker on the screen.

Recognition

Smart relocalization

Find Me probes your most likely saved maps first, and scanning recovers automatically if the session is interrupted.

Capabilities

Built for real buildings.

From a single room to a multi-floor building — ICIDO grows with the spaces you scan.

  • Waypoints

Tag any spot — “printer”, “exit”, “room 204” — and route straight to it.

  • Rooms, found automatically

Larger maps split themselves into named rooms at the doorways.

  • Maps that grow

Add newly scanned areas to a place, or merge two overlapping maps into one.

  • Trails & heat maps

Revisit where you’ve been — recorded on your device only, with an off switch.

  • Share a place

Send one .spacemap file; the other person opens it and navigates it.

  • Whole buildings

Stack scanned floors into a building, and ICIDO follows you between them.

Where your data lives

Private by design.

ICIDO is free and works without an account and without internet — no analytics, no advertising. Everything you scan stays on your iPhone unless you turn on backup. And even then, what you say to it, what the camera remembered, and where you have been never leave your device.
