Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of the ICIDO app and this website. By creating an account or using ICIDO, you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Data Collection Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use ICIDO.

2. ICIDO is free

ICIDO is provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no payment information is collected. We may introduce paid features in future; if we do, we will say so clearly and never charge you without your explicit agreement.

3. Your account

The ICIDO app does not require an account: you can install it and scan, navigate, tag, and open a place someone shared with you without signing in. An account in the app is needed only to back up your places to our server and to share or publish a place, and you can create one with Sign in with Apple or an email address. A website account is separate — for the newsletter, beta testing, or joining as a developer or organization. Both are free, and standard accounts are approved automatically — there is no review queue and no payment step. If you create either, you agree to:

• Give accurate registration information and keep it current
• Use an email address you control
• Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, whichever is higher.

4. Device requirements

Scanning requires an iPhone with a LiDAR sensor — iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models (Pro and Pro Max). On devices without LiDAR, scanning features are intentionally unavailable. We do not guarantee that ICIDO will work on any particular device or iOS version.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scan spaces where you do not have permission to do so, or where scanning is prohibited
• Use ICIDO to record, monitor, or surveil other people
• Break any law, or infringe anyone's privacy or property rights, while using ICIDO
• Attempt to breach, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with our systems or other users' accounts
• Resell, sublicense, or present ICIDO as your own product

You are responsible for having the right to scan any space you capture, and for respecting the privacy of anyone present.

6. Your content

Your scans, maps, tagged spots and history are yours. They are stored on your device, and we claim no ownership of them. If you choose to share a .spacemap file, you are responsible for who you send it to and what it contains.

7. Our content

ICIDO, its name, its icon, this website, and the software itself remain our property and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. These Terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the app — nothing more.

8. Safety and limitations

ICIDO estimates where you are by comparing what the camera sees against a map you previously scanned. That estimate can be wrong, and the app can fail to recognise a place at all. Accuracy is affected by lighting, reflective or glass surfaces, changes to the furniture, crowds, and how completely the space was scanned.

You must not rely on ICIDO:

• For emergency evacuation or fire egress
• As a mobility aid substituting for a cane, guide dog, sighted assistance, or your own judgement
• In any situation where an incorrect position or route could cause injury
• Where regulations require a certified wayfinding or safety system

Always remain aware of your real surroundings. Routes are drawn from a saved map, and the world may have changed since you scanned it.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the account service available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. Because your maps are stored on your device, they remain available to you even when our servers are not.

10. No warranty

ICIDO is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow such exclusions, in which case the minimum warranty required by your local law applies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost data, lost profits, or personal injury arising from your use of ICIDO. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Suspension and termination

You may delete your website account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully. Where practical we will tell you why.

13. Changes to these Terms

If these Terms change, the version, effective date and identifier at the top will change. Material changes will be surfaced in the app and will require your acceptance before you continue using ICIDO.
